At LPI, a quality inspection in China costs from US$250 per inspector-day, including travel in Asia and an illustrated report within 24 hours. The final price depends on quantity, AQL level and number of models, and is fixed in a quotation before each job.
One all-inclusive day rate
An inspection is charged by the time spent in the factory, in inspector-days. Most pre-shipment inspections take one day.

What changes the price
- Quantity and AQL level
- They set the sample size, and so the time spent in the factory. The AQL calculator gives it to you in seconds.
- Number of models
- Each model is checked separately: ten references take longer than one.
- On-site tests
- Function, drop or colour tests and measurements requested on top of the visual check.
- Number of factories
- One inspection day per site when the order is made in several factories.
5,000 pieces, one model, level II
The AQL calculator gives a sample of 200 pieces. With the usual AQLs (0 / 2.5 / 4.0), the lot is rejected at 1 critical, 11 major or 15 minor defects.
This check takes 1 inspector-day, so from US$250, report included.

- Monthly invoicing after the services are performed.
- Free cancellation until 5 p.m. China time the day before the inspection.
- Prices in US dollars, excluding tax; LPI is a Hong Kong company.
Questions about prices
Why a price per inspector-day rather than a flat fee?
Because the work depends on your order: 500 pieces of a single model do not take as long as 20,000 pieces in ten references. The day rate stays the same; the quotation states how many days your order needs, before anything is booked.
Are travel costs charged on top?
No. The rate is all-inclusive in Asia: the inspector’s travel to the factory is included. Prices exclude tax; LPI is a Hong Kong company, and any VAT due in your country is your responsibility.
What if the factory is not ready on inspection day?
Cancelling is free until 5 p.m. China time the day before. A later cancellation, or an inspection that cannot take place because the goods are not ready or the address is wrong, is charged US$200. To avoid it, have the factory confirm the date: our services FAQ explains how bookings work.
